Meeting:
This week's meeting was called to order by President John Cowherd. The invocation was offered by Pat Hogan and the Patriotic song was led by Lloyd Trout. Horacio Valera the Club in the salute to the flag.

Objects of Kiwanis:
Mike Mayo presented the Object of Kiwanis #4:
• To encourage and be servant leaders.

Kiwanis’ Guests:
This week’s guests were Dick Finley, former member, and George Weaver, guest of Candice Weaver as well as Horatio Valera, Circle K Lt. Governor.

Announcements:
President John Cowherd announced that Redwood High School’s Key Club Secretary, Samantha Stevens passed away last Friday. A moment of silence was taken in observation.

President John also announced that there will be no meeting on December 23rd in observance of the Christmas Holiday and that the program for December 30th will be a Roast of Ken Baker along with the Annual Club Auction.

We are also in need of a Club Secretary. If you are interested, please let either John Cowherd or Lloyd Trout know ASAP.

Community Service:
Brandon Smith reported that there will be an opportunity to ring a bell and collect money for the Salvation Army on December 13th from 8am - 5pm at JC Penny’s. If you are interested in participating, let Brandon know. A sign-up has been sent around.

Brandon also announced that the Club would be adopting a family for Christmas. See Brandon ASAP if you are interested in helping with this as we are running out of time and need to get things together for the family of 8 by next week.

Youth Services:
John Cowherd reported that there was a meeting of the Youth Services committee to be held directly following this week’s regular Club meeting.

Highland School:
Dave Gravender reported that there was a Terrific Kids’ Assembly at Highland School last week. Dave Gravender covered the morning session with Brandon Smith handling the Kindergardeners.

Interclubs:
Interclub Co-Chair Lloyd Trout reported that the next Interclub will be held with the Sequoia Visalia Club at the DCM on Monday, December 15th. Signed up are Lloyd Trout, Olivia Velasquez, John Cowherd & Pat Hogan.

Recognition:
President John Cowherd recognized Mike Mayo for an article in the paper, costing him $10. John also recognized himself for his wife’s birthday. Both contributed and Mike Mayo carried the pot to collect at least $20 more.

Happy/Sad’s:
Dick Finley gave a Happy $ that his lunch was only $10 rather than the $12 members pay.
Bill Kitchen gave a Happy $ to join the other Happy $’s.
Don Lobb gave a Happy $5 (plus $1 interest) to pay for his IOU in the pot.
Paul Fry gave a Happy $ for a great concert at the Fox and another Happy $ for another great concert coming up.
Dave Gravender gave a Happy $3 to be at Club this week.
Elaine Rider gave a Happy $2 for the same.
Brandon Smith gave a Happy $5 for his new car and that his is Fine Free.
Lloyd Trout gave a Happy $ that he is still not the Club Secretary.
Olivia Velasquez gave a Happy $ for the cards they sent to the GI’s for Christmas.
Joe Christenson gave a Happy $ to be happy.
Steven Sumida gave a Happy $ for a nice sunny day after the fog.
Candice Weaver gave a Happy $2 to introduce her guest after someone forgot to do it at the beginning of the meeting.

Fine free:
Fine Free Brandon Smith fined himself because he felt guilty for buying a new car in the same month that he holds the Fine Free Badge.

Secret Greeter:
The Secret Greeter this week was Paul Fry. All members who did not shake Paul’s hand donated one dollar each into the blue cans for the Kiwanis IDD Project and Miracle Mile of Quarters.

This Week’s Program:
Our Program this week was the Chief of the Visalia Police Department, Bob Carden with some best practices to address community gang problems.

Split the Pot:
Dave Gravender won the $10 split the pot drawing and failed to draw the joker leaving the $101 pot to grow and 44 cards to draw from next week.

Following is a “schedule” of Future Programs. Please feel free to let Lloyd Trout or Pat Hogan know if you have any suggested programs as they are now handling the schedule and will make the contact.
